WBS SOLAR PUMP - - 115GW of new global photovoltaic installations in 2019
According to the 2020 report of the global photovoltaic market released by the International Energy Agency (IEA), the global installed capacity of photovoltaics in 2019 will be 114.9GW. It exceeded the 100GW threshold for the third consecutive year, up 12% year-on-year, and the cumulative installed capacity of photovoltaics reached 627GW.
The top ten countries in the world in 2019 are China, the United States, India, Japan, Vietnam, Spain, Germany, Australia, Ukraine, and South Korea. The top ten countries accounted for 73% of new installations, a decrease from 2018.
The global photovoltaic market increased from 58.8GW in 2018 to 84.9GW in 2019, a year-on-year increase of 44%.
The installed capacity of the European Union is close to 16GW, and other European countries have increased by approximately 5GW. The largest new installations in the European market in 2019 are Spain (4.4GW), followed by Germany (3.9GW), Ukraine (3.5GW), the Netherlands (2.4GW) and France (0.9GW).
The U.S. market ranks second, with 13.3GW of new PV installed capacity in 2019. Large ground power stations account for about 60% of new installations. In third place, installed capacity in 2019 declined slightly to 9.9GW. The distributed and off-grid installed capacity is about 1.1GW. Japan ranks fourth with an annual installed capacity of 7GW.
Six of the top 10 countries are Asia-Pacific countries (China, India, Japan, Vietnam, Australia and South Korea). 3 European countries (Spain, Germany and Ukraine). 1 American country (United States).
Some other major markets include Vietnam (4.8GW), Australia (close to 3.7GW), South Korea (3.1GW), Brazil (2.0GW), United Arab Emirates (2.0GW), Egypt (1.7GW), Taiwan (1.4GW), Israel (1.1GW), Mexico (1.0GW).
The minimum threshold of installed capacity of the top 10 photovoltaic markets in 2019 all exceeded 3GW, while in 2018 it was 1.5GW. There are at least 18 GW-level markets in 2019, an increase of 8 from 2018.
As far as the types of photovoltaic power plants are concerned, the data shows that the absolute number of distributed photovoltaic markets has increased slightly compared to 2018. However, compared with centralized photovoltaic power plants, this proportion has declined relatively. In 2019, due to the vigorous promotion of bidding plans in many countries, the absolute number of large-scale ground power stations has increased.
